The Number One multi-camera video surveillance software application for the Macintosh.

Version 2 Announced 8/18/09!

Purchases of SecuritySpy 1.x on or after 1 Jan 2009 can be upgraded free of charge. If you purchased your SecuritySpy from our store and wish to receive your Version 2 unlock key, send us an E-Mail and we will get your Version 2 key on the way to you.

NOTE
If already have a SecuritySpy license and want to increase the number of cameras you are able to control, then go to the SecuritySpy Upgrade page for your options.

Our store is an authorized reseller for the product that Indigo customers have been using for years to integrate their surveillance cameras into their Indigo based home automation systems. Prices start at $48 for a single camera license. (See the detail pricing schedule at the bottom of the page.)

SecuritySpy is the premier multi-camera video surveillance application exclusively for the Macintosh. When integrated with the number one home automation software Indigo, it can act, via a simple AppleScript, as a sophisticated motion detector and thus trigger Action Groups within Indigo to flash on lights or control anything else you have defined within your Indigo system. And . . . while the motion detection trigger is being communicated to Indigo, you can have SecuritySpy actually capture video showing what was causing the motion.

If you want to capture video continuously, then you can set up schedules within SecuritySpy to do just that. SecuritySpy also offers great image quality and convenient access to your captured footage.

With SecuritySpy’s Remote Viewing feature, you can access your surveillance system on the Mac where the software is installed; over the internet or over a local network using a web browser.

What You Need to Get Started

If you are building a video surveillance system from scratch all you need is SecuritySpy, a Macintosh computer running OS X 10.4 or later with 512 MB RAM, and one or more cameras (digital cameras, analog cameras with video input devices, or a combination of the two). If you have an existing system using analog cameras, SecuritySpy will enable you to upgrade to a computer-based digital system while still retaining your existing cameras and cabling. However, you will have to have the analog to digital converter hardware appropriate for your specific analog cameras in order to bridge the cameras into your Mac. Of course, integrating SecuritySpy with Indigo will then give you a truly “home control” system.

Summary of Major Features

  • Multiple cameras can be connected and SecuritySpy can use them all at the same time and can display and capture video from from them simultaneously.
  • Supports Macintosh compatible video and audio input devices that may connect to your Mac by USB, FireWire, or as a PCI card.
  • Supports network cameras and network video servers that connect to the computer over an ethernet network.
  • Motion Detection and Timelapse capture features, with audio. The motion detection capture feature records only when motion is detected; the timelapse capture features records continuously.
  • Built-in web server for viewing of images and video over a network. You can connect to SecuritySpy remotely using a web browser to view live images and captured footage.
  • Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) support for many network cameras. Allows you to control the pan/tilt angle and zoom setting of certain cameras directly from within SecuritySpy.
  • Powerful real-time compression that means video can be compressed during recording to conserve disk space - compression options include JPEG and MPEG-4.
  • FTP upload feature that will automatically sends captured footage to a remote computer over a local network or the internet for backup.
  • Email notification feature that will automatically sends an email notification with attached images when motion is detected.
  • Pre-capture buffer to capture video before the time of motion. When a recording is triggered by motion detection, you can have it start from a number of seconds earlier to capture anything important that may have happened before the actual trigger. And, of course, you can send that trigger notification to Indigo to tell it to do whatever you may defined in your Trigger Action Group within Indigo.

And the List Goes On . . .

Other features include: audible alarms when motion is detected; timestamp feature; schedule to activate cameras at set times of the day/week; mask feature for ignoring motion in certain parts of the video image; Browser feature for easy playback of captured footage; network video streaming from one copy of SecuritySpy to another running on a different computer; auto-deletion of old footage to free disk space; and, of course as previously mentioned - - - AppleScript support.
