The Basics
The INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer has the same great features as the award-winning INSTEON SwitchLinc V2 Dimmer but with a familiar toggle control to match your home décor. You can, of course, control lights remotely, turning them on and off and adjusting brightness levels. Want scenes? You can incorporate a light into multiple lighting design scenes in minutes. Want ultimate control? Define and synch it into a savvy home automation program like Indigo and you’re only limited by your imagination.
Compatibility
The INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer is fully INSTEON compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. The ToggleLinc V2 can then be remotely controlled with a INSTEON ControLinc and/or Indigo. Since the ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer can also be assigned an X10 house code, if you have the PowerLinc Controller, then you can communicate to it with Indigo using the X10 protocol. However, if you have downloaded Indigo 1.8 and have the INSTEON PowerLinc V2 Controller, then you will be able to control it using native INSTEON commands for increased reliability and response speed.
Easy To Install and Use
The ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer is so easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll want to replace all of your switches with ToggleLinc V2 Dimmers. Just remove the old switch, reattach the line, load, and ground wires with the addition of the neutral wire using the included wire nuts, and you're done. The ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer offers the natural feel of high-end switches: flip up to turn lights on, flip down to turn lights off. You'll also love the crisp, tactile response with each flip, instead of the mushy feeling of other brands.
Adjustable Fade Rate
You can adjust the speed at which the controlled light turns on or off, also known as the ramp rate. For example, you may want the light in the stairwell to turn on instantly so you can see where you're walking, or you may want the light in the master bathroom to ramp up in a soft, gentle fashion so you're not blinded in the middle of the night. The ramp rate is adjustable between 0.1 seconds and 9 minutes.
Dimmable
Adjust the brightness level of your light locally by pushing and holding the INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer in the on position. Use the brightness levels to create just the right amount of lighting for your mood. You can preset up to 32 brightness levels. The white status LED indicates the current status of the light being controlled. When the ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer is turned off, the white LED illuminates to help with finding the switch in the dark.
Create Multi-Way Circuits
Do you have two or three switches that you wish could all control the same light? The ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer allows you to customize your lighting scenes without rewiring your home. These complicated lighting circuits are made simple using INSTEON technology because you won't need to use traveler wires to create the electrical connections. First replace all of the switches you want to include in the circuit with ToggleLinc V2s. The primary dimmer must be connected to the standard wires: load, line, neutral, and ground. The secondary dimmers only need to be connected to line, neutral, and ground. Since no traveler wires are needed, it is easy to place a dimmer wherever you need it. Finally, cross-link all of the secondary dimmers to the primary dimmer for a flexible, fully functional multi-way circuit.
Non-Erasable Memory
All INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer settings are stored in static memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer will return to its last brightness level when power is restored.
Gang Switchbox Note
The INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Dimmer can control up to a 600-watt load. However, anytime ToggleLinc V2 Dimmers are placed directly adjacent to one another in a gang switch situation, you must subtract 200 watts of capacity from each dimmer. If three dimmers are adjacent to one another, then 400 watts must be subtracted from the capacity of the center dimmer.
Fluorescent Lights?
If you need a non-dimmable switch to control fluorescent lights, electronic ballasts, halogen lamps and low-voltage lighting transformers, then you need to use the INSTEON ToggleLinc V2 Relay.
